Baseball On Deck is an independently produced daily blog (property of Downtown Magazine) covering major league baseball (MLB) with particular focus on top individual game performances by players in both the National League and the American League. The Players of the Day for each league is chosen by scouring boxscores and recaps, generally focusing on the player who has the most impact for his team in terms of home runs, RBI, runs scored, hits per at-bat or, for pitchers, shutouts, strikeouts, runs and hits allowed, ERA and WHIP. Extensive playoff and World Series coverage begins with the various divisional playoff races and continues into the fall.
Baseball On Deck features daily posts from Spring Training through the end of the World Series. In the off-season, posts are less-frequent, but still baseball-oriented.
